We are still plowing through Acts on Tuesday night.  Next time we will walk through chapter 17.  Click here to get to a preview.

Notes on Daniel

September 18, 2010

I recently had a need to access my notes on Daniel while away from my home study computer.  I am uploading the notes so they are available to me and you (if you find yourself in need of a Daniel reference away from home!)

Sand Lake, MI – 2010 – Fellowship Meeting Messages

September 18, 2010

It was my joy to fellowship with many beloved friends and family members over the Labor Day holiday.  This meeting has been a celebration of God’s faithfulness and grace for decades.  I was also honored to speak a couple times.  I have created a link to the notes here: Psalm 19, Names of God.  If you want access to the page send me a message and I will let you know the password.

Updated Acts Study

September 18, 2010

I just added notes through the end of Acts 3 to the notes on Acts page.  That includes notes for the session to be held on September 21.  You can access it using the link on the left.

The Book of Acts study

August 14, 2010

August is here and with it comes the new season for Life Groups at Mountain Springs.  To those who are new to our group, welcome!  This summer we started a study of the book of Acts.  Or as it was probably known originally, the second scroll of Luke. You can catch up by following this link.

Summer of 2010

July 10, 2010

It has been a busy summer at our house this year.  Early in the summer I went to Charlotte and enjoyed a week at Southern Evangelical Seminary, taking the Classical Apologetics course taught by Professor Reed.  As a consequence, I’ve done a good bit of reading in support that class: Dulles’ History of Apologetics was a good read, and the Handbook of Christian Apologetics by Kreft and Tacelli will be a good reference going forward as well.  Speaking of references, the Oxford Dictionary of Philosophy was a good addition to my Library this summer and has already made itself useful as I work through my notes in preparation for my Classical Apologetics Final Exam.

If all goes according to plan we will start a Study in the Book of Acts next Tuesday (7/13/2010).  I will start posting the notes on Acts in the near future.

Completed Song of Songs

July 10, 2010

I uploaded the last installment of the Song of Songs today. It can be viewed from this link.

Amos study

July 10, 2010

We did the Amos study just over a year ago.  It features the prophetic utterances of Amos, a layman who God used in an extraordinaire way.  It is password protected using the same password as we use for the other studies.  It can be found following this link.

Completed Romans and Started a new Study

March 14, 2010

I finally got around to posting the rest of  my Book of Romans study to the Romans page and started a new page today.  Last week we started a study of Song of Songs (Song of Solomon in some of your Bibles).   Thanks to Charlie Summers for leading us through a topical study on prayer based on Wayne Grudem’s comments on prayer from his excellent volume Systematic Theology. I hope you find the new study edifying.  Click here to proceed to the Song of Song study.

Added chapters 12-14 and some other updates

January 16, 2010

Our Christmas break from Romans is about over and it turned out to be longer than we expected.  Between some of the other great things that God is doing in our lives and the holidays we have missed being together through the second week of January.

As you may recall, we are going to be walking through Romans chapter 14 on Tuesday the 19th of January, but as I compared my notes and my blog posts, I realized I was a few chapters behind on the blog, so I caught up with this installment.

After we complete Romans, Charlie will do a series on prayer that will take a few weeks and then I will start again with a verse by verse study of The Song of Solomon.
